Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions
“Southern Tours” (registered as Mzanzi Adventures, Reg. No. 2016/287637/07) is referred to as “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” The person who signs the booking form is referred to as “the Client,” “you,” or “your.” This contract is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

2. Booking & Payment
A booking is considered confirmed and accepted by the Company only once we have issued a confirmation invoice. A deposit is required to secure a reservation. The full balance of the tour fare is due seven (7) weeks before the departure date. All tours require a minimum of 4 travelers, though the Company may, at its discretion, operate tours with fewer clients.

3. Deposits
A deposit of 50% (30% per person for a couple of more travellers) per person is required to submit a booking. This deposit forms part of the total tour fare.

4. Cancellations by the Client
All cancellations must be made in writing and are effective from the date received by the Company. The following cancellation fees will apply:

  • 45 or more days before departure: Loss of deposit.
  • 15 to 44 days before departure: 65% of the total fare.
  • Less than 15 days before departure, or failure to join the tour: 100% of the total fare.
    No refunds will be given for any unused portions of the tour.

5. Changes & Unavailable Services
The Company will not provide refunds for any changes to or the unavailability of accommodations, facilities, or itinerary events, and will not accept liability for any consequential damages resulting therefrom. The Client indemnifies and holds the Company harmless against such claims.

6. Cancellations by the Company
We reserve the right to cancel any tour. In this event, our sole liability will be the full refund of all monies paid by the Client, which will be made in full and final settlement.

7. Authority on Tour
The appointed tour guide/leader is responsible for the tour and the safety of all clients. You must comply with their instructions, all applicable laws, and foreign exchange regulations of the countries visited. We reserve the right to terminate your participation in the tour, at your own cost and without refund, if your conduct is unlawful, disrupts the tour, or causes a nuisance to others.

8. Luggage
Each client is restricted to one piece of luggage, not exceeding 15kg (unless agreed upon the booking process) . The Company may refuse to carry excess luggage. All luggage and personal possessions are carried entirely at the client’s risk, and the Company accepts no liability for their loss or damage.

9. Travel Documents
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have all necessary, valid, and effective travel documents, including passports, visas, health certificates, and insurance policies.

10. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, and loss of luggage or money is compulsory for all clients. It is your responsibility to arrange suitable insurance.

11. Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road conditions, mechanical breakdowns, or political unrest. In such events, the Company will provide the vehicle, equipment, and crew services, but all additional costs (e.g., alternative accommodation, meals, repatriation) will be borne by the client. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.

12. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company, including its members, employees, and agents, shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or death of any person, or loss or damage to any property, however caused, including through negligence. You indemnify the Company against all related claims. Should a court of law find the Company liable for any claim, such liability shall be limited to a maximum of R50,000 (Fifty Thousand Rand), inclusive of capital, interest, and costs.

13. Photography
The Company reserves the right to use any photographs or videos taken during the tour for promotional purposes without obtaining further consent or offering payment.

14. Health
By booking this tour, you confirm that you are medically fit, have read the proposed itinerary, and understand the level of physical fitness required to participate.
